The 2010 cycling season has drawn to a close especially now that the evenings are darkening and the hour is about to change. As of the time of writing this post I have had my three week winter break off of the bike and I am one week back into what I plan to become a regular training regime throughout the winter. The couple of weeks off were important, it gave me an opportunity to reassess how this year has gone and where do I want to be for 2011.

I cycled the Castleisland Bypass for the first time yesterday, both sections, the northern 2 mile stretch which joins the main Tralee Road to the Limerick Road and the southern 1 miles stretch joining the Tralee Road to the Killarney Road, what a fantastic achievement by both local lobby groups and the local politicians for getting this one through. Nothing bad at all to say about the surface, or layout of the road. The northern section is steeper than I thought it would be cycling up towards the Limerick Road but great for training.
