In conjunction with the Ring of Kerry cycle weekend, this year will see the inaugural Ring of Kerry Family Pedal in Park 10k Cycle, which takes place Friday 1st July. Why not bring along family members to Killarney National Park and join in the fun on the eve of the Ring of Kerry Cycle! All cyclists must wear a helmet and children U-10 accompanied by an adult. Registration is at 6:30pm and cycle at 7:30pm. Cost is €1 per person and funds received will be donated to this years Ring of Kerry Cycle designated charities.
The feature event of the weekend is the 46th John Drumm Memorial Cup Race on Sunday at 1.15 pm but we have a range of supporting events as well to accomodate all standards of cyclists. The first event is the Sliabh Luachra 15km time trial on Saturday night. This is open to all catagories and has cash prizes for the first 6 with unplaced prizes for A2, A3, A4, Ladies, Under 16, Under 14, Over 40 and Over 50. Sign on is from 6.30 to 7.20 with the first rider off at 7.45. This is almost one lap of the race circuit for the following day.
Sunday’s action commences with the underage racing starting at 12.15. These are races for Under 14 and Under 12. These will be held on a 4 mile circuit with 3 laps for the Under 14s and 1 for the Under 12s. Prizes will be for the first 6 in each race with the best unplaced Under 13 and Under 11 also winning a trophy.
The series will run for 7 consecutive weeks and with the 7th week will forming the Kerry TT championships on the same course. The distance is 20km and the course starts on the road to Castleisland just beyond the Earl of Desmond traffic island, and is an out and back to the first bypass roundabout. Entry fee is €10 per race or €50 for all 7 events including the Kerry Championships. Non cycling Ireland members can purchase a day licence for the series of 7 events for a discounted price of €20 (normally €10 per event). Sign on between 5.45 until 6.45 at the Earl of Desmond Car Park with first man off at 7pm.
Running the Tralee-Farranfore-Castleisland route, register at O’Donnells Bar at Mount Hawk Tralee from 9:30. Cycle to start at 11:30. Entry fee is unknown and for more details and sponsorship cards contact Ger on 087-2569772 or Tom on 087-2580812.

Entry Fee is €20 (one day licences are available at sign on for non Cycling Ireland Members at an extra cost of €10). All riders taking part must wear a helmet. Food & water stops, showers & refreshments will be available at the Killorglin Rowing Club afterwards

Kingdom Care are hosting a Charity Cycle Day on May 28th 2011. The cycle will depart from the Kingdom Care Charity Shop, Kingdom mart Buildings, Mounthawk , Tralee. The Route will be as follows – TRALEE MART -> FARRANFORE -> CASTLEISLAND -> TRALEE MART. All levels of cyclists are catered for – Advanced 50k and Beginners – 10k. The Kerry Group Rás Mumhan is renowned as one of the top cycle races on the Irish domestic calendar. For 2011 the event organisers have developed a special sportive for the queen stage. The Etape Rás Mumhan provides the leisure & sportive rider with a rare opportunity to ride a classic stage of a domestic road stage race.
