The Remembering Zoë Cycle Challenge, in association with Abbeyfeale Cycling Club, will take place on Sunday 10th of May and consists of 50km, 85km and 120km routes taking in the sites of Abbeyfeale and the surrounding parishes. Cycling the Great Southern Trail

The Great Southern Trail is an off road greenway trail on a section of an old Railway Line in Counties Kerry and Limerick. It is intended to be 85 kilometres long eventually and when complete will run all the way from Tralee to Limerick. At present (Summer 2018) only the section between Abbeyfeale and Rathkeale is completed (35km) although plans are currently submitted with Kerry County Council to develop the Abbeyfeale -> Listowel section, adding another approximate 10km to what exists currently. This 50 Mile/80K route covers some of the largest towns in North Kerry with many options to extend or cut short along the way depending on how you feel. The route I have mapped leaves Tralee and heads in the direction of Castleisland, then onto Abbeyfeale via the main road, turning left in Abbeyfeale and left again for Listowel before heading back into Tralee.
