Day 6 and legs are getting used to being tired but it doesn't seem to bother me when on the bike. Today was the last event of this year's Kerry Time Trial League, same course 12.5 miles (20K), from the Ballycarthy roundabout to the Castleisland Bypass roundabout and back. It was a windy evening with the advantage on the way out but tough on the way back. I started at a steady pace and tried to keep it going sparing some energy for the final few miles which I knew would be tough. I ended up 5th out of 9 with a time of 33 minutes and 4 seconds [...]

Castleisland Bypass

I cycled the Castleisland Bypass for the first time yesterday, both sections, the northern 2 mile stretch which joins the main Tralee Road to the Limerick Road and the southern 1 miles stretch joining the Tralee Road to the Killarney Road, what a fantastic achievement by both local lobby groups and the local politicians for getting this one through. Nothing bad at all to say about the surface, or layout of the road. The northern section is steeper than I thought it would be cycling up towards the Limerick Road but great for training. [...]
