Starting in the car park at the tourist centre in Adare village it is a flat spin to Shanagolden with some gentle climbing then onto Glin with views of the Shannon estuary.  Leaving Glin where there is an information control there is a short climb before you get to see some turf cutting as you decend to Athea, a name carried on highly recommended black puddings made in the area.  Entering Abbeyfeale riders will be passing a Supervalu where they can avail of refreshments.
