This gruelling climb is infamous to cyclists throughout the county and is a challenge to even the most battle hardened. In the past this climb has been a part of the Rás Tailteann and FBD Milk Rás leaving participants with no shortage of adjectives to describe Castleisland and it's hinterlands. In the 10 years or so that I have been enjoying cycling around the Tralee area and Kerry in general, it's sometimes nice to come up with a challenge to spice things up a little. I thought of this challenge when I did Glounsharoon in the spring earlier in the year for the first time.
