Sportive Event on in Killorglin on Sunday 15th of May and hosted by the Killorglin Cycling Club.

3 Route Options 60KM, 100KM & 130KM

Sign from 09:00 Killorglin Rowing Club – Cycle starts at 10:00 for all 3 route options

Entry Fee is €20 (one day licences are available at sign on for non Cycling Ireland Members at an extra cost of €10). All riders taking part must wear a helmet. Food & water stops, showers & refreshments will be available at the Killorglin Rowing Club afterwards

The Kerry Group Rás Mumhan is renowned as one of the top cycle races on the Irish domestic calendar. For 2011 the event organisers have developed a special sportive for the queen stage.  The Etape Rás Mumhan provides the leisure & sportive rider with a rare opportunity to ride a classic stage of a domestic  road stage race.

The Chain Gang Cycling Club will be hosting a series of Sportive to suite all abilities on Saturday 17th of September. There are 30K, 110L and 160K options on the day and it is advised to register as soon as possible. For more information please visit The Chain Gang Website.

Cork is gearing up for the fifth and final event of the successful 2010 An Post cycle series which this year promises to be action packed. An Post, The Irish Sports Council and The Cork Sports Partnership have this year teamed up with Ballyhoura Trails and The Cork Environmental Forum to bring cycling enthusiasts a new cycling experience. The event will take place over the course of two days, Saturday September 11th and Sunday September 12th and will incorporate both road events and mountain biking events that caters for cycling enthusiasts of all levels.

The An Post Sean Kelly Tour of Waterford will be held in Durgarvan on Sunday August 29th. There are 50K, 90K and 160K options on the day and from experience I can recommend this as being one of the highlights of the year. The event is pre-entry registration only so if you are interested check out http://www.welcomewaterford.ie/seankellytour/.

Currow Cycling Club will be hosting the annual Day Care Center Leisure Cycle again this year on Sunday 5th of September.

There will be 3 distances of 16km, 50km and 80km so there should be a comfortable route for all cycling enthuasists,The leisure cycle (and they stress leisure cycle) starts at 10.00am from the Castleisland Rugby Club.

‘THE COAST RUN CHALLENGE’ 145Km Sportif, and 85km, Leisure Spin, is on Sun 11th July. Starting in Abbeyfeale,

The route is as follows. Abbeyfeale, Mountain Road into Tralee, and follows the Scenic Shannon Estuary, Ballyheigue, Ballybunion, Asdee (Food Stop)
Tarbert, plus the testing climbs out of Glin and Athea.

85km Leisure Route starts in Abbeyfeale, moves on to Listowel, Ballybuniion, and links up there with the Sportif route.

Taking place on Saturday, July 3rd 2010, the event, sponsored by Radio Kerry’s Community Fund, is the biggest one day charity fundraising event in Munster and will see thousands of leisure cyclists experience a fun and rewarding day’s cycling, while at the same time fundraising for worthy Charities.
