A morning spinning around the countryside of North Kerry The Nitty Gritty: Route: Tralee-Kerryhead-Ballyduff-Lerrig-Ardfert-Tralee Distance: 78 km Height gain: 505  metres Difficulty:  6/10 Details:  Take the R551 out of Tralee passing through Ardfert and then into the centre of seaside town Ballyheigue. Tralee-Dan Paddy Andy-Knocknagoshel-Castleisland-Tralee The Nitty Gritty: Route: Tralee-Kielduff-Dan Paddy Andy-Knocknagoshel-Castleisland Distance: 63 km Height gain: 515  metres Difficulty:  6.5/10 Details: Head away from Tralee to the North, towards the IT north campus. Cross the N69 roundabout and keep on this road, which is a steady climb through Kielduff towards the Tralee Landfill. The climb goes on for a good 5 km but is steady and the road is quiet.
