The Audare 200

Route Description: Event details are as follows, there are some changes to the route from last year. Starting in the carpark at Adare, the route proceeds Westwards through Shanagolden,  Glin (Info Control) and into Co. Kerry through Ballylongford and Astee. Turning south by Beale Strand the riders will enter Ballybunion where there will be a manned control. After Ballybunion we head South east through Listowel, Abbeyfeale and on into Co. Cork over the only major climb of the day to visit the towns of Newmarket and Kanturk (155km, Control). [...]

The Banner 200

The Banner 200 starts from the square in Kilrush and heads north to Kilkee, from there you start to follow the coast to Miltown Malbay, Lahinch, Liscannor and along by the Cliffs of Moher. After passing through Doolin with the Atlantic ocean on your left and the sea of limestone that is the Burren on your right, you will travel round Black Head and onto Ballyvaughan. After leaving Ballyvaughan, your route will take you into the heart of the Burren. A few minutes spent visiting the 4500 year “Poulnabrone Dolmen” brings its own rewards. [...]

A 200 km DIY audax off Kerry's beaten track. It's funny how things go. Last week I checked my facebook  page and saw some guy doing a 300 km ride in England, mainly in the dark.
